The epic, action‐adventure film 'John Carter', is based on the Edgar Rice Burroughs classic, “A Princess of Mars,” the first novel in Burrough’s Barsoom series. Former military captain John Carter (played by Taylor Kitsch) is strangely transported to the mysterious, exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars) and involuntarily becomes entangled in an epic conflict among the inhabitants of the planet.
